MEOW-GICALLY MAGNIFICENT
Meownorail: a combination toy train and block system targeted towards pre-kindergarteners meant to encourage pattern recognition and teach the concept of linkages and motion
IDEATION
Trains teach linkages & blocks teach building and patterns; why not combine them?
DEVELOPMENT
Initially to include just multicolored blocks, I had the idea to include similar orthographics of feline figures, further encouraging pattern recognition & engaging child interest
After a proof of concept was derived, seen above, I moved to fabrication in the woodshop. Each cat appliqué was cut out and attached by hand, each linkage tested to fit each other, and each block sanded to 320 grit
